Digitizing Your Fabric: A Comprehensive Guide to Asset Creation
Introduction
Adding new assets to the TextileCloud™ Asset Library is a fundamental process for users who manage digital fabric collections. This knowledge base article provides clear instructions on how to create and add assets to the library, either by scanning fabrics or uploading pre-scanned images.
Getting Started
- Navigate to the Asset Library: Access the Asset Library in TextileCloud™ and click the [+Create] button to begin the asset creation process.
- Upload Methods: Choose from either scanning and emailing the fabric image to the cloud, uploading pre-scanned images from your device, or use your APEXFiz™ material via the SHIMA SEIKI integration.
Preparing Your Fabric
- Optimal Digitization Requirements: Ensure your fabric is at least 21x21 cm, free of wrinkles, imperfections, and lint, especially if tiling is required.
Image requirements
- Supported Formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG.
- Maximum File Size: 100MB per file.
- Recommended Resolution: 300 DPI.
- Minimum Size: 800x800 pixels.
- Image Orientation: Portrait.
Important note:
No matter the DPI of your fabric image, we’re here to make it easy. If the DPI is lower than 300, we’ll give you a friendly heads-up with a message [<300 DPI].
You can then replace the image to enhance the quality of the 3D file for better results.
To enhance the quality of your 3D file, follow these steps:
1. Click the [Replace] button to upload your new pre-scanned image.
2. After replacing it with a higher DPI fabric image, remember to recreate the 3D material for better results.
1. Creating Assets by Smart Upload
Steps for Smart Upload:
-
Scan Your Fabric:
Use your equipment to scan the fabric you wish to add to the library. -
